Network Technician

Job Title
Pay Range - $25.00 to $28.00 per hour
Position Details:
- Hourly position based upon experience & skill level.
- Long term contract with possible contract extension or hire.
- Work hours will be Mon-Sat 6:00pm-2:00am
- Location: Customer site - Dallas, TX 75207.
Experience and Education:
- Must have in-depth knowledge of structured cabling
- Knowledge of IEEE and BICSI cabling standards
- Must have basic knowledge of networking and network troubleshooting
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a relevant role within a data center environment
- 5 yrs experience with the following:
- Fiber optic cabling installation, inspection and cleaning (80% = SM; less than 20% MM)
- Fiber: pairing 96 to 128 strands
- Copper cable termination and certification (CAT 6)
- Knowledge of IEEE and BICSI cabling standards
- Experience with Fluke Versiv Mainframe
- Cable patching between devices
- Installing and decommissioning racks & network devices
- Physical layer (also known as Layer 1) troubleshooting
- Equipment disposal activities
- Must be willing to work shift work which includes nights and weekends
