Shop Manager

Shop ManagerH.P., Inc. is looking for an experienced Shop Manager to lead our maintenance team. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows trucks inside and out and is passionate about developing the technicians around them. You'll oversee day-to-day shop operations, ensure fleet safety and compliance, and serve as the go-to technical resource for a team of tractor and trailer technicians. If you take pride in a well-run shop and know how to bring out the best in your crew, we want to hear from you.What You'll DoCoach, mentor, and train tractor and trailer technicians to build technical skills, reinforce safety standards, and support their professional growthOversee daily shop operations including scheduling, work assignments, and personnel managementInspect and evaluate completed work to ensure quality and compliance with FMCSA regulationsManage parts and tool inventory, requisition supplies, and coordinate contractor work bidsClose all tractor and trailer repair orders accurately upon job completionMonitor and respond to phone calls, texts, and emails in a timely and professional mannerCompile maintenance records, develop shop policies and procedures, and communicate equipment status to business unitsPerform skilled repair and maintenance operations as needed alongside your teamRequirements2–4 years of experience in a truck/trailer maintenance shop, including supervisory or lead technician experienceAdvanced mechanical aptitude — you need to know it well enough to teach itDemonstrated experience coaching, mentoring, and training techniciansCertified in Brake Systems and AC Systems requiredValid Class A CDL in state of residence requiredFamiliarity with Microsoft Outlook and basic computer skillsStrong communicator who follows through and keeps the team informedWhy Hill Bros?H.P., Inc. is part of the Hill Brothers family of transportation companies, a family-owned operation built on seven core values: Tradition, Give a Sh*t, We Not Me, Adaptable, Relentless, Spirit of Service, and Forward-Thinking.
