Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to work in a specialized healthcare environment. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in neonatal care and be prepared to support a dynamic and fast-paced team.

Shift Information

• Night and Day shifts available: 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00 or 07:00 - 19:00)
• 3x12 or 4x12 shifts with variable day/night schedules or straight nights
• Must work 2 of the following 3 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's

Location

Assigned to the Palomar NICU with required floating to various facilities in the region, including:

• Rady Main Campus
• Scripps Encinitas
• Rancho Springs
• Scripps La Jolla
• Scripps Mercy

Qualifications

• Active California RN license
• Minimum of 3 years of NICU Level 3 experience
• Current certifications: BLS and NRP
• Experience with Cerner system preferred
• Ability to provide immediate assessment and resuscitation of neonates

Requirements

• Must be available for weekend shifts with full flexibility
• No specific weekend requirements; must be open to scheduling changes
• No local candidates accepted; must reside outside a 50-mile radius

Unit Highlights

• Children's Hospital NICU Level 3 setup
• Magnet-designated facility with teaching capabilities
• 12-bed capacity with an average daily census of 8

• Specialized care diagnosis includes respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, and hyperbilirubinemia

Clinical Skills Required

• Administration of medications and blood products
• High-frequency ventilation management
• Central line care and blood draw
• Neonatal sepsis and abstinence syndrome care
• Developmental care and patient/family education

Important Notes

Candidates must confirm their total requested time off (RTO) upfront, with a maximum of 6 days allowed. Willingness to float between units may be required. Orientation will include 24 hours of training.
