Job Title: RN - Labor and Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP Must-Have: L&D background including experience with circulating the OR for C-section deliveries. Description: Contract position for an RN in Labor and Delivery. The role requires working night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Responsibilities include providing care in a high-acuity environment. The unit has 15 LDRs, 2 OBED rooms, 5 recovery bays, and 3 ORs. Patient ratios are 2:1 for labor, 4:1 for antepartum, 2:1 for PACU, and 6:1 for postpartum. The team consists of RNs, OB techs, and unit clerks on both day and night shifts. Candidates must possess skills relevant to postpartum care. Common procedures performed include C-sections, BTL, cerclage, D&C, and inductions. Candidates should be open-minded and positive team players. Scrub color is galaxy blue, and a specific patch from the designated healthcare facility is required. The unit follows various guidelines including protocols for oxytocin, labor induction, and care of high-risk maternal patients. The environment is recognized for its maternal level III designation and being mother-friendly. This position offers the opportunity to work with experienced staff and utilize advanced equipment. Shifts require two weekend days per schedule with on-call responsibilities.
