Labcorp is seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to support its Durham Patient Service Center. This individual will perform blood collections on patients of all ages, including pediatric patients, while providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate will be dependable, punctual, comfortable with difficult draws, and able to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy and a positive patient experience.

Day-to-Day

• Perform venipuncture and capillary collections for patients of all age groups, including pediatrics

• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol testing, and other services

• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis

• Maintain accurate patient and specimen documentation

• Enter patient information accurately and efficiently

• Process billing information and collect payments when required

• Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed

• Support a high-volume PSC averaging 100-130 patients per day

• Travel to additional sites if needed

Skills and Requirements

Must-Haves

• High school diploma or GED

• Phlebotomy certification, completed phlebotomy training program, or at least 3 months of phlebotomy experience

• Minimum 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience

• Experience performing venipuncture on patients of all age groups

• Experience with a variety of vein types, including difficult draws

• Basic computer skills and comfort with data entry

• Reliable transportation

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• Must be able to pass a standardized color blindness test Plusses

• Strong pediatric phlebotomy experience

• Experience working in a high-volume Patient Service Center

• Experience supporting 100+ patients daily
