Accounting Specialist

My client, a private financial services firm located in the Oakland County area of Michigan, is seeking a motivated and experienced Accounting Specialist to join its Finance team. This individual will help advance and support the excellence of the firm’s accounting and financial operations. Entities have a diverse asset and liability mix including marketable securities, private equity holdings, hedge funds, multifamily real estate investments. This role will report to the Director of Tax & Accounting and will interface with the investment team on a routine basis. Primary Responsibilities Booking entries in accounting software and creating/maintaining workpapers Support the monthly/quarterly/annual accounting close processes Support the production of quarterly and annual financial statements Bank account reconciliations Additional Responsibilities Assist with back-office cash management Interface cross-functionally with the investment team on transactions due diligence and ensure the timely and accurate accounting for transactions Provide analytical support across the organization and perform ad hoc projects as needed Required Qualifications and Personal Traits 1-3+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience Experience with SEI Archway and Yardi Voyager a plus Advanced Excel skills and short cut knowledge Impeccable attention to detail and strong work-ethic are a must Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others in a small and diverse team environment A positive and can-do attitude to manage multiple projects through completion Preferred Public accounting and/or Financial Services experience #J-18808-Ljbffr Masis Professional Group
