As a Nurse Tech, you will support patient care and contribute to making communities healthier. Department/Unit Summary Nurse Technician Position Summary – Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, perform basic patient care activities and unit support tasks to promote safe, efficient care and patient throughput. Assist with activities of daily living, routine monitoring, and maintaining a clean, well‑stocked environment; support nursing/physician staff and tech desk operations. Report to the Director or Manager of the Department. Essential Functions Perform basic patient care as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possible blood glucose measurements, and accurate intake/output recording. Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating, toileting, ambulation). Observe and promptly report abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to nursing staff. Keep patient rooms and common areas clean, safe, and appropriately stocked. Manage the tech desk; support nursing/physician staff and department throughput. Document care and activities per unit standards. Participate in performance improvement and required education; perform other duties as assigned. Protected Health Information accessed: Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record. Bloodborne Pathogens exposure: Occupational exposure may be present for all employees in this role. Physical requirements: Frequent standing, walking, reaching, keyboard entry, repetitive movements, kneeling, and lifting/moving patients; occasional sitting and squatting; rare running or climbing. Near/far vision and depth perception are frequent/constant; color distinction is frequent. Environmental exposures: Occasional exposure to biohazardous waste, communicable diseases/pathogens, dust, gases/vapors/fumes, and hazardous chemicals/medications; latex exposure is frequent. Qualifications and Requirements Education: High School diploma preferred. License: SRNA or EMT preferred. Certifications: BCLS required; Handle with Care preferred. Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment; rapid learning and navigation of multiple software systems; effective English communication (read/write/speak); ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.
