About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel to lead and provide strategic legal guidance across the enterprise. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality legal services, resolving complex legal issues, and acting as a legal and business generalist to counsel and guide leadership. This role involves coaching and guiding a team of legal professionals, cultivating relationships with business stakeholders, and promoting organizational governance. The Associate General Counsel will also be involved in global risk assessment, and mitigation strategies, and will be accountable for the legal department's budget and outside counsel management. Applicants for the Associate General Counsel position at the company should have a minimum of 12 years' of experience in providing business-appropriate legal advice, with a preference for those who have at least 5 years' of experience in leading and developing legal teams. The role requires a licensed attorney with a strong understanding of the business of insurance and the ability to provide legal advice that aligns with business objectives. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, innovative, and possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Responsibilities also include collaborating with cross-functional teams, and aligning legal department goals with the company's overall strategy.
