Commercial Real Estate Paralegal

LHH is partnering with a highly respected Nashville-area law firm to identify an experienced Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to join its growing transactional practice. This position will support a senior commercial real estate team handling a steady volume of acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and development transactions.
Responsibilities- Order, review, and analyze title commitments, title exceptions, vesting deeds, and related recorded documents.
- Prepare title and survey objection letters and assist in resolving title and survey issues through closing.
- Coordinate ALTA/NSPS surveys and work directly with surveyors, title companies, lenders, and opposing counsel.
- Manage due diligence, including UCC, lien, judgment, bankruptcy, and litigation searches, entity documents, and zoning and tax confirmations.
- Draft and assemble closing documents, including deeds, assignments, affidavits, settlement statements, easements, and ancillary closing documents.
- Maintain transaction checklists, closing timelines, and critical deadlines.
- Coordinate escrow instructions, funding logistics, recordings, and post-closing deliverables.
- Assist with borrower and lender-side financing transactions.
- Prepare electronic closing binders and manage final title policy delivery.
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients, title companies, lenders, and opposing counsel throughout the transaction process.
- Minimum of 5+ years of commercial real estate paralegal experience.
- Law firm experience strongly preferred.
- Extensive experience reviewing title commitments, title exceptions, and ALTA/NSPS surveys.
- Strong understanding of commercial real estate closings, title insurance, escrow procedures, recording requirements, and post-closing administration.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active transactions simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and document management systems.
- Collaborative, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Tennessee Notary Public commission or willingness to obtain one.
- Experience handling multi-state commercial real estate transactions.
- Experience with construction loan closings and development projects.
- Familiarity with title and closing platforms such as SoftPro, Resware, or similar systems.
- Paralegal certificate and/or NALA/NFPA certification is a plus.
