Position Description & Qualifications Serco has a wonderful opportunity for an Acoustics Engineer to join a dynamic team supporting the Team Submarine COLUMBIA Program Office. Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact on military defense and safety of our sailors. The Team Submarine’s Submarine COLUMBIA Class Program Office is responsible for construction of COLUMBIA Class submarines, financial and budget management, shipyard support of submarines, vendor support of submarines, logistical support, quality assurance (SUBSAFE), and post‑delivery submarine certifications and test programs. The Team Submarine concept unifies once diverse submarine‑related activities into a single submarine‑centric organization to eliminate traditional stovepipe structures and processes that created impediments and inefficiencies in the submarine research, development, acquisition, and maintenance communities. Team Submarine provides improved communication among the various offices that contribute to the overall success of the United States Submarine Force. David Drury leads this team as a Navy veteran. The team has been recognized by the Navy and the industry for their outstanding contributions to the contract and program. THIS POSITION IS CONDITIONAL UPON THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN/MAINTAIN/TRANSFER AN ACTIVE DOF SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE. Responsibilities Support PMS397 design and construction to meet survivability requirements. Identify technical issues that need resolution in your particular area. Work with applicable SITs to facilitate resolution of technical issues. Facilitate timely decisions and review and adjudication of all design products and written correspondence. Act as a liaison with other PMS397 team members and NAVSEA05 Technical Warrant Holders (TWH). Serve as a primary customer contact for all activities, regularly meeting with and updating the customer on project status. Establish and maintain effective relationships with the program manager, deputy program manager and/or technical lead. Lead program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Provide acquisition management planning and execution support. Lead technical discussions for project reviews, including preparing and delivering formal briefings. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Ability to obtain/maintain/transfer an active DoD Secret Security Clearance. Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related field. 2 years of relevant work experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Time management skills. Proven excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask effectively. Ability to travel up to 10%. Ability to use Microsoft Office packages effectively. Flexibility in relation to job specification and schedules. Problem‑solving ability. Desired Experience and Skills Experience with Navy acquisition and/or in‑service programs. Active duty experience in the submarine service preferred. Recent experience in Team Submarine would be ideal.
