Assistant Restaurant Leader

Job Overview The Assistant Restaurant Leader serves as the primary support to the Restaurant Leader, overseeing day-to-day operations, maintaining Raising Cane’s high standards, and managing all hourly crew members. The role requires day, evening, and weekend shifts, with on‑call duties for opening and closing procedures. Responsibilities Hire, terminate, and onboard all hourly, non‑management crew members. Own the status change and payroll processes for hourly employees. Create work and training schedules for crew members. Manage performance of all hourly crew (coaching, documentation, performance actions). Act as manager on duty—open and close the restaurant. Handle cash management and ensure accountability. General To The Role Enforce Raising Cane’s policies and standards. Execute shift management meetings, ensuring compliance with operations and safety standards. Use required tools, logs, and forms for shift execution and corrective actions. Deploy crew during shifts and provide exemplary customer service. Leverage the reward and recognition program for crew. Authorize managerial functions requiring approval (discounts, promotions, time‑clock overrides). Maintain cleanliness and ensure the facility is operational. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple changing priorities. Self‑driven, flexible, energetic with strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills. Effective both independently and collaboratively. Strong problem‑recognition and goal‑setting abilities with proven execution. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and quick to learn new systems. Willing to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and travel for training. 3+ years of restaurant or retail management experience (new‑restaurant opening experience preferred). Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver’s license. High school diploma required; some college preferred.
