Seasonal Forklift Operator

About Us H&A Farms is a family-owned, multigenerational agricultural business with operations in Orange, Lake, and Levy counties. Our farming and packing operations manage more than 1,000 acres, and we pack fruit for more than 60 growers throughout Florida and Georgia, representing an additional 1,800+ acres. Job Summary H&A Farms is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our fast-paced fruit packing operation. The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely moving, loading, unloading, and organizing blueberries, packaging materials, finished goods, and pallets throughout the packing house, coolers, and storage areas. This position plays an important role in keeping product moving efficiently from receiving through packing and shipping. Key Responsibilities Safely operate forklifts to move pallets of fruit, packaging materials, and finished goods. Load and unload trucks transporting fruit to and from the packing house. Transport product between receiving, packing lines, cold storage, staging, and other designated areas. Assist with unloading incoming fruit and staging it for packing. Move and organize pallets within coolers and storage areas. Place products and materials in designated locations to support inventory accuracy. Load outbound trucks and ensure pallets are stacked and handled securely. Perform daily forklift inspections and basic maintenance checks. Follow all company safety procedures and promptly report equipment or safety concerns. Maintain clean and organized work areas. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate product and material movement. Qualifications Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification. Previous forklift experience in a warehouse, packing house, agricultural, or similar environment. Experience working with fresh produce or in cold-storage environments is preferred. Knowledge of proper pallet stacking and load balancing. Ability to safely operate equipment and handle heavy loads. Strong attention to safety and detail. Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred. Working Conditions This position works in a fast-paced packing house and cold-storage environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and moving equipment. The role requires standing, driving, lifting, and repetitive movement. Candidates must be available to work long hours during peak harvest season.
