The Quality Assurance Specialist at MSI-Viking Gage supports the Quality Assurance Manager in maintaining, improving, and verifying compliance of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) with ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001 standards. This position plays a key role in ensuring that MSI-Viking Gage consistently delivers high-quality calibration, metrology, and inspection services that meet or exceed customer and regulatory requirements.

Customer Quality Assurance Support

• Assist the QA Manager in completing and maintaining customer quality assurance surveys, supplier quality evaluations, and other customer-driven quality documentation.
• Support communication with customers regarding quality inquiries, compliance requirements, and audit-related information. Monitors customer feedback inquires for quality-related issues and ensures that customers receive prompt responses where appropriate.

Internal Auditing

• Participates in planning, scheduling, execution, and reporting of internal quality audits to assess compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, and MSI-Viking Gage’s internal quality processes and procedures.
• Documents audit findings IAW quality assurance procedures and works with MSI-Service Managers to develop effective corrective actions to nonconformities, and verifies the implementation and effectiveness of those corrective actions.

Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions

• Support the investigation of nonconformances, customer complaints, and audit findings using MSI-Viking root cause analysis methods.
• Assist in the development and monitoring of effective corrective and preventive actions to help ensure timely closure and continuous organizational improvement.

Quality Assurance Site Audits

• Assist the Quality Manager in the preparation, coordination, execution and participation of all external audits, including accreditation assessments, customer audits, and supplier evaluations.
• Maintains audit readiness through ongoing quality documentation review, calibration record review, accuracy of data verification, and process compliance monitoring.
• Conducts on-site quality assurance audits of calibrated items.

Data Analysis & Trend Analysis Monitoring

• Collects, analyzes, and interprets quality-related data and metrics to identify local and enterprise-wide trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.
• Provide periodic reports to management summarizing findings and recommendations.

Management Review Support

• Gathers, validates, and compiles quality data and performance metrics for the Annual Management Review Report, including audit results, customer feedback, nonconformances, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.

Documentation & Quality System Maintenance

• Assist in maintaining controlled documentation, including quality procedures, forms, records, and manuals.
• Support document revision processes in accordance with QMS requirements.
• Assists the Quality Manager in the creation, management, and revisioning of measurement uncertainty budgets for all MSI-Viking laboratories.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work collaboratively across multiple departments to promote quality awareness, foster compliance with QMS policies, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in cross-functional teams addressing process optimization and efficiency improvements.

Other Duties

• Performs other duties as assigned including chairing special projects as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager to support the goals of the company and objectives of the Quality Department.

Education & Experience

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Metrology, or a related technical field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality assurance or calibration environment, preferably in a calibration laboratory setting performing calibrations in mass, pressure, force, torque, dimensional, DC & low frequency electronics, and thermodynamics.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001 quality management system requirements.
• Experience with developing uncertainty budgets, internal auditing, nonconformance management, and root cause analysis methods.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of quality management principles, auditing techniques, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency in data analysis, trend tracking, and report generation.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• High attention to detail, organizational ability, and time management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and quality management software systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented, multi-site organization.
• Must have excellent people skills.

• Primarily office-based with occasional work in laboratory and calibration environments.
• Ability to sit, stand, or move between work areas as needed.
• Occasional travel to other MSI-Viking Gage locations or customer sites for audits and quality activities may be required.
