**Job Summary and Responsibilities** As our Environmental Services Technician, you'll keep our patient rooms and all areas of the hospital clean and sanitized. This protects everyone from potential illness or injury due to infectious diseases or other hazards. Every day, you will perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, or dusting. You will also use specialized equipment and techniques to further sanitize our facility. This role requires you to learn and adhere to proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials, including bodily fluids or sharp objects. You may also refill soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, and other supplies, as well as deliver clean linens. To be successful in this role, you are thorough and committed to safety. You truly are the most important component contributing to the safety and comfort of our patients, visitors, and staff. A well-maintained facility with compassionate staff brings comfort and peace of mind to patients, their loved ones, and all who serve here. + Performs cleaning of public and patient care areas to established standards. + Must score 2 or fewer discrepancies on current Medi-Dyn Assessment Tool. + Must follow Hospital Safety Regulations 100% of the time. + Must practice proper hand hygiene 100% of the time. + Uses properly and cares for cleaning equipment and chemicals for job assignment. + Observes Universal Precautions 100% of the time. **Job Requirements** **Required:** + High School Graduate General Studies or two years equivalent work experience, upon hire or + High School GED General Studies or two years equivalent work experience, upon hire **Preffered:** + Previous Housekeeping or Guest services experience Where You'll Work Founded in 1910, Dignity Health - Mercy Hospital is a 229-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in Bakersfield, California.
