Special Education Teacher - High School Science

Metro Prep High School, Grade School and Laureate Day School have been educating and supporting students with special needs for over 25 years supported by FGC. Using a multidisciplinary approach, Metro Prep and Laureate Day School provides educational and therapeutic learning opportunities in a small, nurturing environment. This allows our staff to tailor each student's program to meet his or her individual needs.
Metro Prep High School supports students ages 14-21
Essential Duties:
- Develop curriculum to meet each student's individual needs as indicated on the IEP
- To maintain an IEP for each student and update the IEP quarterly and for the student's annual review by using collected data
- Collaborate with teachers and staff.
- To completes an educational summary for each student quarterly and upon completion dismissal of the program.
- To perform upkeep of classroom maintenance/organization, classroom rules (posted), point sheets (if applicable), peer review, etc.
- To assist staff in crisis intervention and physical management as needed.
Number of Position Openings: 1
Regular School Year Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:00a - 3:30p)
Summer Session Schedule: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri (8:00a - 12:30p) , Wed (8:00a - 3:30p)
Pay Rate: $56,431 - $61,258; based on education
Metropolitan Preparatory and Laureate Day School are a Drug Free Woorkplace. Pre-employment drug testing includes marijuana/THC.
This position requires DCFS background clearance.
