Purpose:To provide resident care and activity needs under the supervision of the Department Manager and/or Nurse on duty. To provide care in a manner that promotes the best possible quality of life for the resident while residing at The Orchard. Minimum Eligibility RequirementsLicensed CNA, Home Health Aide, Personal Care Home Maker, or related experienceReferences documenting skills and experience as a caregiverCurrent TB skin test prior to the date of hire then annuallyCleared background check within 2 yearsMust be able to lift 50lbs.Ability to read and write EnglishMust be able to communicate effectively Must have compassion for and desire to work with elderlyAbility to perform all duties and responsibilities under essential job functions Essential Functions Document resident activity on approved forms in a manner that is legible and understandableProvide resident care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing bed linens, positioning, transferring, and incontinence care while using appropriate techniquesObserve any changes in resident condition, take action to ensure safety of resident and report to supervisorMake rounds as directed to check on resident statusRespond to call lights in a timely mannerVital sign monitoring will be performed as needed by personnel with current trainingAssist with dining service and activity program as directedUnderstand and follow safety and infection control policies and proceduresUnderstand and follow resident care plan and document accordinglyHear, understand, and respond to resident communicationReport incidents and completes appropriate paperworkCollect, wash, and care for laundry & linens in accordance with The Orchard policy.Help to properly maintain all equipment, and general facility maintenance & cleanlinessEnsure work areas are clean and safe, ensure policies covering infection control, health and safety, etc. are strictly followedEnsure compliance and understanding of all regulations and resident rightsAttend all required in-service trainingsPromote and encourage residents to participate in activitiesAnswer phone appropriatelyMeet customer service standards in a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner with resident satisfaction a priorityAbility to distinguish and prioritize duties and resident needs (both emotion & physical) v/s task at handThe job description provides a framework for the job, other duties may be assigned as necessary BenefitsPTOMedical InsuranceDental VisionBasic Life and AD&D (Employer paid)DisabilityAccidentCritical IllnessEmployee Assistance Program Standard ShiftDay ShiftEvening ShiftNight Shift Supplemental PayShift differential
