- Conduct evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics through standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Create tailored treatment plans that cater to both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Deliver focused, one-on-one speech therapy aimed at enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing abilities.
- Team up with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to design cohesive care approaches.
- Educate patients and their families to support their progress beyond your clinical sessions.
- Provide sporadic inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout their healing journey.
- Keep thorough and timely records in line with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage in continuing education opportunities to stay informed about the latest advancements in the field.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
- Possess state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred possession of Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies for various age groups, with a solid grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Flexibility to adapt therapeutic techniques to cater to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Sound clinical judgment alongside strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records and adhering to documentation standards.
