Description
  • Conduct evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics through standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Create tailored treatment plans that cater to both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Deliver focused, one-on-one speech therapy aimed at enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing abilities.
  • Team up with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to design cohesive care approaches.
  • Educate patients and their families to support their progress beyond your clinical sessions.
  • Provide sporadic inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout their healing journey.
  • Keep thorough and timely records in line with state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Engage in continuing education opportunities to stay informed about the latest advancements in the field.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
Certifications
  • Possess state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred possession of Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
Skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies for various age groups, with a solid grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Flexibility to adapt therapeutic techniques to cater to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Sound clinical judgment alongside strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records and adhering to documentation standards.
