Sub Arc WelderWe are seeking a skilled and dependable Sub Arc Welder to join our manufacturing team in Wausau, WI. The Sub Arc Welder will operate submerged arc welding equipment to produce high-quality welds on large components and assemblies. If you have welding experience, strong attention to detail, and take pride in doing the job right, we'd like to hear from you.Sub Arc Welder Responsibilities:Operate submerged arc welding (SAW) equipment to weld metal components and assemblies.Set up and adjust welding machines, equipment, wire, flux, and other materials according to job specificationsRead and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, work instructions, and specificationsInspect materials and completed welds for proper alignment, penetration, appearance, and qualityMonitor welding equipment and make adjustments as needed to maintain consistent weld qualityPerform basic measurements and verify dimensions using measuring toolsPrepare surfaces and components for welding, including cleaning, grinding, and positioning materialsMaintain proper welding parameters and follow established welding proceduresIdentify welding defects or equipment issues and make necessary corrections or report problems to a supervisorMaintain a clean and organized work areaFollow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper PPE requirementsPerform other welding and fabrication duties as assignedRequirements for Sub Arc Welder:Previous welding experience preferred; Sub Arc Welding experience is a strong plusAbility to read and understand blueprints and welding symbolsBasic knowledge of welding processes, equipment, and safety proceduresAbility to use measuring tools and welding-related equipmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to work independently and as part of a teamGood hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitudeReliable attendance and a strong work ethicAbility to stand and work for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 50lbsAbility to bend, stoop, reach, and work in various positionsAbility to work around welding fumes, heat, noise, and industrial equipment while following required safety proceduresAbility to wear required personal protective equipmentIND050 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
