Physician Assistant Job Type: Full Time | Job Location: New Hartford, NY | Job Level: Professional Job Summary The Physician Assistant will provide healthcare services typically performed by a physician, under the supervision of a physician. Responsibilities include conducting physical exams, diagnosing and treating illnesses, ordering and interpreting tests, and counseling on preventive healthcare. The Physician Assistant will also assist in surgery and prescribe medications. Education and Experience Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) State licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities Ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team environment Knowledge Medicine and Dentistry: Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive healthcare measures. Biology: Knowledge of plant and animal organisms, their tissues, cells, functions, interdependencies, and interactions with each other and the environment. Psychology: Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders. English Language: Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Resource Management Skills Time Management: Managing one's own time and the time of others. Primary Job Duties Conduct physical exams and record patient medical histories. Diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and conditions. Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X‑rays and blood tests. Prescribe medications and provide patient education on preventive healthcare. Assist in surgical procedures and provide post‑operative care. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans. Counsel patients on health maintenance and disease prevention.
