Energy Auditor

Job Title: Energy Auditor / Final Inspector General Responsibilities Assess homes for energy‑efficiency improvements to be performed and conduct follow‑up inspections on eligible client homes. Responsible for quality control, energy audits, field inspections, and completion of all necessary documentation and related field activities. Job Duties Enter all handwritten audit information into the computer; prepare work orders, agreements, purchase orders, send bid requests for heating equipment if required and all necessary documents leading up to the completion of a weatherization job. Participate in required training and meetings; develop strong computer skills to perform computerized work and WISWAP duties. Read, decipher and adhere to the rules and regulations in the Weatherization Manual and Weatherization Field Guide. Perform final inspections on weatherized homes, authorize correction of deficiencies, and coordinate quality‑control checks on all completed units within three months of completion. Work closely with foremen on projects audited; ensure issues encountered by foremen are resolved and no changes to work orders are made without approval. Assist in duties of other employees during their absence and/or when assigned. Perform weatherization measures unassisted on jobs designated as "one‑person jobs". Develop close relationships with sub‑contractors performing work on jobs provided with an energy audit and work order. Assist the Program Manager as needed in the selection process based on priority of cases. Schedule and perform weatherization audits in conjunction with Home HQS inspections for all housing programs following state/federal guidelines. Implement all aspects of the HOME Rental Rehabilitation Program, including client relations, conducting HQS inspections, developing project work scopes, supervising contractors, and ensuring contract rehabilitation compliance. Foster relationships with peers and supervisors to ensure a harmonious work environment and professional relationships. Other duties as assigned. Experience and Qualifications Educational and/or professional experience in energy audit, carpentry, insulation or any other related building trade. Must have Wisconsin Energy Auditor Certification. Prefer Quality Control Inspector certification from the Building Performance Institute. Computer knowledge and experience preferred. Capacity and willingness to learn operations of blower door, pressure diagnostic detector, carbon monoxide tester, and other new products and equipment; willingness to seek licenses and certification in Home Improvement, Home Rehabilitation, Weatherization, and Energy Conservation Professional fields. Ability to work in demanding environments and with people of diverse personalities. Good verbal and written communication skills. Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License, auto insurance, and a good driving record. Able and willing to supervise and train unskilled and skilled personnel under your supervision. #J-18808-Ljbffr
