Summary Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Office of Executive Assistant Commissioner, Headquarters Support Division, located in Washington D.C. Responsibilities As a Staff Assistant, you will be able to use your expertise in administrative and clerical support to provide project-related, advisory and technical services to CBP management. This position starts at a salary of $57,736.00 (GS-07, Step 1) to $75,059.00 (GS-07, Step 10). Providing administrative support to the principle manager's office activities Monitoring and tracking all reports, studies and special projects Preparing a variety of reports utilizing various databases and automated systems Monitoring and reporting on progress in resolving issues or problems being addressed by subordinate offices. Qualifications Experience: You qualify for the GS-07 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Compiling and comparing information and documentation related to office administration. Monitoring records and tracking utilization of office budget using a variety of databases and automated systems. Participating in conferences and meetings by maintaining a list and following up on issues/problems being addressed. Scheduling appointments and preparing correspondence ensuring correct grammar and punctuation. Coordinating and attending internal meetings relating to grievances and unfair labor practices, proposed and final discipline/adverse actions, Equal Employment Opportunity complaints, appeals to the Merit Systems Protection Board, and other confidential labor and employee relations matters.
