RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in Neuro ICU with 1:2 patient ratios
• 1.5 years of experience required, first-timers accepted
• Weekend requirements vary based on unit needs
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH
• No on-call requirements
• May float to other ICUs, PCU floors, ED to care for admitted patients, PACU to care for admitted patients
• Care for patients with TBI, SAH, SDH, tumor resections, status epilepticus, and other neurologic disorders
• Perform EVD insertions, neuro post-op care, A-line insertions, intubation, central line insertion, CRRT, post-TPA care, post-thrombectomy care
• Manage ICP monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Work with ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management
• Must pass Arrhythmia Competence Exam within 4 days of signing (2 attempts allowed)
• Black scrubs required
• Use Cerner charting system
• 24-hour orientation provided
• New contracts and extensions must be at least 10 weeks
• Guaranteed hours per week with facility allowed to call off 3 times throughout 13-week assignment
• Overtime after 48 hours for contracts signed on or after 10/30/2025
• Block schedule accommodation possible but not guaranteed
• No locals within 100 miles accepted

This Level I Trauma and teaching hospital features 554 staffed beds and operates as a comprehensive medical center with specialized neurological care capabilities. The facility maintains a certified comprehensive stroke center and provides advanced critical care services including continuous renal replacement therapy and external ventricular drain management. The hospital offers extensive interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
