Company: Wilson Building & Development Location: South Florida (Palm Beach / Broward / Miami-Dade — travel to job sites required) Job Type: Full-Time Pay: $80– 120k per year, depending on experience (plus vehicle/fuel allowance )

About the Role

Wilson Building & Development is looking for an experienced Concrete Shell Superintendent to run structural shell operations from footings through dry-in. You will be the person on the ground responsible for schedule, manpower, quality, and safety on commercial shell packages — everything from CMU retail and custom single-family homes and multi-story cast-in-place structures.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who knows how a building goes together, can read structural drawings without being walked through them, and can hold subs and crews to a schedule.

What You'll Do

• Run day-to-day field operations on shell packages: site prep coordination, footings, slab-on-grade, CMU walls, columns, tie/bond/lintel beams, elevated slabs, formwork and shoring, trusses and sheathing — through dry-in
• Read and interpret structural, architectural, and civil plans; catch conflicts before they get poured
• Build and maintain the three-week look-ahead schedule; keep concrete, rebar, block, pump, and crane deliveries sequenced correctly
• Coordinate and direct in-house crews and subcontractors — concrete finishers, masons, rebar, formwork, carpentry
• Schedule and walk all municipal and third-party inspections (footing, slab, cell fill, beam, truss, sheathing) and keep the job inspection-ready
• Verify layout, elevations, embeds, sleeves, and reinforcing before each pour; confirm mix designs, slump, and testing requirements against specs
• Enforce OSHA and company safety standards; run toolbox talks and correct hazards immediately
• Document daily field reports, manpower counts, quantities placed, weather delays, and photos
• Identify scope gaps, plan conflicts, and change conditions early; communicate them to the project manager and estimating team with enough detail to price
• Manage material take-off verification and on-site quantities to control waste and overruns

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years running concrete shell work as a superintendent, general superintendent, or strong lead foreman ready to step up
• Demonstrated experience with CMU/block construction, cast-in-place concrete, and wood/steel truss framing to dry-in
• Ability to read and take dimensions off structural and architectural drawings, shop drawings, and rebar schedules
• Working knowledge of Florida Building Code requirements, high-velocity hurricane zone (HVHZ) detailing a plus
• Strong scheduling ability and comfort managing multiple subcontractors at once
• OSHA 30 preferred (OSHA 10 minimum, or willingness to obtain OSHA 30 within 90 days)
• Valid Florida driver's license and clean driving record
• Comfortable with basic field technology — smartphone, email, digital plan viewing, daily reporting apps
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a strong plus
