Direct Support Professional (Staffed Home) - Adults with Disabilities

Position Summary We are seeking a passionate, creative, and energetic Direct Support Provider (DSP) to join our Day Program team. Under the guidance of the Department Manager, you will be responsible for delivering community-based day services that support individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving their personal goals as outlined in their Individual Service Support Plans (ISSPs). As a DSP, your primary focus will be on providing meaningful engagement opportunities that promote skill-building, independence, health, and social connection. You'll have the chance to work in groups with program participants in a variety of settings throughout the community. Key Responsibilities Support individuals (Program Recipients/PRS) in achieving ISSP goals through engaging and inclusive community-based activities. Plan and facilitate habilitative activities including: Volunteering Physical fitness and wellness activities Recreational outings and interest-based events Promote and ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of each PRS at all times. Foster relationships and create inclusive opportunities with local community members and organizations. Encourage independence and self-advocacy among individuals. Maintain accurate documentation and timely reporting of participant progress and incidents. Collaborate with coworkers, families, and other care team members to ensure quality service delivery. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; additional education in human services or related fields are a plus. Be at least 18 years of age with at least one years driving experience. Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Provide Valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation. · Proof of auto insurance including an insurance declaration page stating current coverage. Ability to pass background checks and required clearances. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to think creatively, adapt to challenges, and remain calm under pressure. Have a current CPR & First Aid certification. Have a current Crisis Prevention Training certification (i.e., Safety Cares, Mandt, CPI). Comfortable leading group activities and engaging with the public. .
