WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You will be part of the Global Jordan Direct Merchandising team, partnering closely with Sport Merchandising, Marketplace, Brand Marketing, Visual Merchandising, and Geography Merchandising teams. Together, you will create consumer-right assortments, build compelling product stories, and deliver differentiated retail experiences across Nike Direct.

We are looking for a consumer-focused merchant with a passion for product and a strong understanding of marketplace dynamics, retail, and consumer insights. You combine analytical thinking with strong merchandising instincts to make informed assortment decisions, identify opportunities, and shape seasonal strategies.

You thrive in a fast-paced environment, navigate ambiguity with confidence, and bring a collaborative mindset to solving complex business challenges. You can translate insights into clear merchandising actions and influence partners through a strong point of view. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
• 5+ years of experience in merchandising, buying, assortment planning, retail, or marketplace management.
• Strong understanding of assortment architecture, product segmentation, and franchise management.
• Experience leveraging consumer, marketplace, and business insights to inform merchandising decisions.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and adapt to evolving business needs.
• Strong communication, storytelling, and cross-functional collaboration skills. 

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

As a Senior Merchant, you will build and manage the Sport Apparel, Footwear, Accessories, and Kids Footwear seasonal assortments that connect Jordan's product vision to the Nike Direct consumer experience. You will leverage consumer insights, marketplace trends, and business performance to create assortments that drive growth, brand distinction, and consumer demand

Responsibilities

• Build consumer-right assortments that align with seasonal strategies, cross-sport opportunities, and business objectives.
• Define assortment architecture, product segmentation, and franchise strategies across key product categories.
• Analyze consumer behavior, marketplace trends, and business performance to identify opportunities, risks, and whitespace.
• Partner with Global Sport Merchandising to represent the Direct marketplace perspective and help shape future product and assortment direction.
• Bring assortments and product stories to life through partnership with Visual Merchandising, creating compelling retail experiences and consumer journeys.
• Collaborate with Geography Merchandising and marketplace partners to localize assortments, evaluate performance, and apply hindsight insights to future seasons.
