Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. The role involves coordinating patient care, ensuring safety, and supporting families through childbirth experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' health status and labor progress to develop appropriate care plans.
• Monitor fetal heart rates and contractions, adjusting care as needed.
• Act as charge nurse when required, leading and coordinating nursing team activities.
• Float to other departments as a safety companion to support staffing needs.
• Administer medications and perform clinical procedures in accordance with protocols.
• Educate patients and families on childbirth, postpartum care, and newborn care.

Qualifications:

• Current Montana RN licensure in good standing.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required; recertification every 2 years.
• American Heart Association BLS certification within the last two years.
• Prior experience in Labor and Delivery, antepartum, intrapartum, preoperative, circulating, or PACU preferred.
• Ability to act as Charge Nurse and handle float assignments effectively.
• Demonstrates excellent assessment, communication, and teamwork skills.
