Orthopedic Rehab Technician — Part Time (15 hrs)

Rehab Services Technician Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, LLC (IBJI), Chicagoland's premier orthopedic medical practice with several Chicago and suburban locations has a Part Time 15 hours/week Rehabilitation Technician opening. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in an orthopedic physical and occupational therapy setting. As a rehab technician at IBJI, you’ll be a vital member of the orthopedic team, contributing to both clinical care and the overall success of the clinic using expertise in patient treatment and time management. Rehabilitation Technicians are responsible for assisting clinicians in delivering quality care with the goal of improving a patient's overall quality of life and function. Summary A rehabilitation technician is under the general technician supervisor and management team at the site of employment. The main objective of this position is to support the staff with a team-oriented approach in delivering exceptional customer service and care with the goal of improving a patient’s overall quality of life. Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service and communication to therapy patients, therapists, physician staff, and clients in a fast paced orthopedic rehab office. Perform daily clinic maintenance, including cleaning treatment tables and equipment, changing linen, and stocking supplies. Keep exercise equipment orderly and out of the way of patients to maintain safe conditions in the clinic. Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checks to stay compliant with IBJI guidelines. Act as an extender to therapists; assist clinicians with carrying out exercise programs for patients, including setup on equipment and modalities. Communicate observations to the therapist during the patient’s exercise program. Take initiative in assisting clinicians with patient care. Print home exercise program for patients under the direction of the clinician. Inventory both clinical and non-clinical materials. If assigned to front desk support, perform clerical duties such as checking in patients, scheduling appointments, taking co‑pays, scanning, and answering the phone. Provide daily support to the rehab staff and management team. Follow HIPAA guidelines by protecting patients’ identities. Work with patients regardless of diagnosis, age, or background. Maintain a positive attitude in the clinic. Demonstrate professionalism with prompt attendance and flexibility with established work hours. Perform all other duties as assigned. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Requirements Education Currently enrolled in school or graduated from at least high school. Certifications / Licensure Not applicable. Experience Must be at least 16 years of age or older. Technical Skills Skilled in Windows, MS Office, and email access. Soft Skills Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure. Detail oriented and demonstrates effective time management. Displays professional and effective writing and verbal communication skills. Physical Requirements Stand or sit for extended periods of time.
