Location: Jacksonville FL USA 32206
Shift: 7:00AM -3:00PM Duration: 2Months
Position Summary:
Performs a series of operations or tasks under close supervision, utilizing documented work processes.
Core Responsibilities:
- Follows all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality.
- Check on equipment throughout shift to ensure equipment is working properly.
- Reads and clearly follows processes that are required.
- Contributes to division results and performance.
- Takes care of internal and external customer needs and expectations.
- Operate equipment specific to area such as: CARBON: Bag products, samples and test; Manage spent carbon feed to reactivation furnace; Switch tank feed from tank to tank of spent carbon; calibrate PH probes, operate a filter press, run facility wastewater treatment plant.
- REGEN: Sort bottles by size and resin; load and unload deliveries to and from regional branch; Operates forklift to move bottles and materials through plant and load/unload trucks; evacuates bottles.
Required:
- Must complete site specific safety training.
- Ability to communicate clearly with team members.
- Be able to follow and read instructions. Have basic math skills.
- Site specific requirements: CARBON: Be able to complete 40-hour hazardous waste operations training.
Preferred:
- Some manufacturing/plant experience.
- Forklift driving.
- Knowledge of computers.
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
- Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Must be able to climb and descend stairs.
- Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
- May work indoors and outdoors as needed.
- Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees.
- May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required.
- May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.
- Work surfaces may include concrete.
- Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
