ORDER FULFILLMENT SUPERVISOR

Reports to: Sr. Manager, Order Fulfillment

WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS

StoneAge customers depend on orders being fulfilled safely, accurately, and on time. This role exists to lead the people, processes, and daily execution that make that commitment possible. The Order Fulfillment Supervisor ensures materials and customer orders move efficiently through shipping, receiving, inventory control, manufacturing support, and warehouse operations. Through clear leadership, disciplined execution, and continuous improvement, this position strengthens inventory accuracy, operational performance, and the overall customer experience.

WHAT YOU OWN

Team Leadership and Development You build a capable, accountable, and flexible Order Fulfillment team. Provide direct supervision, coaching, training, and performance management for Order Fulfillment Team Members. Lead daily stand-ups that establish priorities, communicate business needs, and align the team around performance expectations. Conduct regular OWN IT Chats, development discussions, and performance documentation. Ensure appropriate staffing and balance workloads across fulfillment functions. Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training activities. Identify skill gaps and develop cross-training plans that increase team capability and coverage. Create an environment grounded in safety, teamwork, accountability, trust, and continuous improvement. Address performance concerns promptly, constructively, and consistently. Safe and Reliable Operational Execution You ensure daily fulfillment operations are organized, responsive, and aligned with customer commitments. Direct daily shipping, receiving, inventory control, manufacturing support, and warehouse activities. Coordinate labor and resources in response to changing priorities and business demands. Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and shipped on time. Monitor shipping schedules, carrier deadlines, and operational constraints. Serve as the primary escalation point for shipping issues, receiving concerns, inventory discrepancies, and other disruptions. Lead timely problem-solving efforts and communicate risks or delays to affected partners. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Provide hands‑on support and backup for critical fulfillment functions when necessary. Inventory Accuracy and Material Flow You protect the accuracy and integrity of StoneAge’s inventory. Lead cycle-counting, reconciliation, and physical inventory activities. Ensure inventory transactions are completed accurately in Epicor and handheld scanning systems. Investigate inventory variances, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Reinforce consistent inventory‑control practices and transaction discipline across the team. Partner with Material Coordination, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance to improve material flow and inventory performance. You strengthen the systems and processes that support safe, efficient, and scalable fulfillment. Lead improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, inventory accuracy, and customer service. Develop, maintain, and reinforce standardized work instructions and operating procedures. Apply Lean principles and practical problem‑solving methods to reduce waste and improve workflow. Lead after‑action reviews and corrective‑action activities. Recommend improvements to warehouse layout, equipment, technology, systems, and processes. Support warehouse optimization projects, system implementations, and operational readiness for new product introductions. Performance and Accountability You use clear measures to understand performance and drive action. Monitor, analyze, and communicate departmental key performance indicators. Maintain a strong focus on: 99.5% order accuracy Inventory accuracy Productivity goals Safety objectives Identify performance trends and implement corrective actions when results fall below expectations. Provide clear operational updates to the Sr. Manager, including accomplishments, risks, resource constraints, and improvement opportunities. Ensure the team understands how individual performance contributes to customer satisfaction and departmental results. Cross-Functional Partnership You connect operational execution with the needs of customers and the broader organization. Partner with Customer Service, Manufacturing, Material Coordination, Purchasing, Quality, Finance, and Sales to resolve operational challenges. Align fulfillment priorities with customer commitments and business needs. Communicate constraints, risks, and changing conditions early and clearly. Build productive working relationships that support coordinated decisions and a seamless customer experience.

WHAT YOU BRING

At least five years of experience in order fulfillment, warehousing, logistics, inventory management, manufacturing support, or a related operational environment. At least two years of experience leading or supervising employees. Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and material‑flow processes. Experience using an ERP and inventory‑management system; Epicor experience is preferred. Experience leading continuous‑improvement or process‑improvement initiatives. Strong analytical, decision‑making, and root‑cause problem‑solving skills. Demonstrated ability to coach employees, address performance concerns, and build team capability. Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and prioritization skills. Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions in a fast‑paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.

HOW SUCCESS IS MEASURED

You are successful when: Customer orders consistently ship on time and with at least 99.5% accuracy. Inventory records are reliable, transactions are completed correctly, and variances are addressed at their source. Safety expectations are consistently followed and incidents are minimized. Team members understand their priorities, receive meaningful coaching, and demonstrate increasing capability and accountability. Operational KPIs are achieved or exceeded. Fulfillment challenges are resolved promptly and communicated effectively. Continuous‑improvement efforts produce measurable gains in safety, efficiency, quality, inventory accuracy, or customer service. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques. Ability to work extended hours during peak operational periods when required.
