Job TitleResponsible for supervising and coordinating the daily activities for crew workers to build rotors, erect base and mid-sections, erect full turbines and offload turbine components while meeting production schedule timelines.Job DescriptionEssential Job Functions:Production: Ability to interpret specifications and read blueprintsAssist in lay out of work for crewPreplan daily activities and ensure crew productivity to meet job scheduleMonitor quality control of work in place by craft workersOrder and coordinate delivery of necessary materialsComply with all documentation requirements and fill out all project related reportsCoordinate equipment needs, ensure operators are qualified and ensure that all equipment is maintained, and repairs are done in a timely mannerSupport jobsite Superintendent to coordinate activities of individual projectsMay perform related trade work as requiredImplement better methods of production in all aspects of job to strengthen best practices within Wanzek Construction, Inc.Other duties as assignedQuality: Monitor crew installation for quality issuesMonitor work areas to ensure quality work is being completedLook for ways to improve safety, quality and productivitySafety: Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and proceduresTrain and instruct crew members in safe work practices for assigned tasksAudit safe work practices, ensuring PPE is available and used properlySupervisory: Assist Human Resources and Superintendent by interviewing, hiring, training, appraising work performance and addressing complaints of employees in the fieldDirectly supervise and coordinate daily activities of craft workersComplete ESRs for all employees with a change in job status (transfer, laid off, terminated)Conduct regular performance reviews of crewmenManage up to six or more employees and lead menConduct regular performance reviewsTrain and mentor new workersManage, lead direct reports, and mentor.QualificationsEducation and Work Experience Requirements:4 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experienceHigh school diploma or GEDCertification (preferred)Plus 2 years of experience in supervisory roleKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulationsWhen on-site, actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractorsSet a personal example of safe behaviorRead and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manualsAdd and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10's and 100's and ability to perform these operations using units weight measurement and volumeCommon sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral formAbility to work within precise standards of accuracy and follow set procedures and standardsOther may duties may be assignedMaintain in-depth relations with all members of their team and your supervisor.Physical Demands:Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditionsMay need to maintain physical strength and stamina; Use arms, hands, and legs fully; Push, pull, and frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, crawl, and climb to perform job tasksStamina to perform this task repetitively and continuously for several hour intervalsUncontrolled environmental conditions: Constant change in weather and site conditionsThis work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noisesAbility to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to- safety toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areasMay need to work at heights and must be able to abide by all safety and fall-protection requirements; must be able to wear and utilize all safety equipment required for work at heightsEvaluate information based on measurable standards; and see details in objects or drawings and recognize slight differences in shapes and shadingsVisualize objects in three dimensions from drawingsKeep good balance and work at heightsSee well (either naturally or with correction)Hear well (either naturally or with correction.)Coordinate the use of eyes, hands, and feet.Hours:This position is a Full-Time position scheduled to work typically 50 hours per week.
