Phlebotomist

Description This posting is for multiple openings and shifts of Phlebotomist at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital in Spokane, WA. We are hiring for the Part-Time and/or Supplemental or Per Diem opportunities. Under the general direction of the Laboratory Director, the Phlebotomist collects and processes laboratory specimens from all areas of the hospital including, but not limited to the Emergency Department, Main Tower, West Tower, East Tower and Outpatient areas, including blood samples, skin scrapings, and POCT testing and non-blood specimens. Maintains laboratory supplies by ordering, receiving and stocking them. Answers the telephone and relays messages. Performs general laboratory duties including general cleaning, instrument maintenance, copying, faxing and other related duties. Registers patients and accessions specimens into the computer system. Labels, processes and distributes samples. Prints pending logs. Prints, copies and distributes reports depending upon department. Provides orientation, and training for Medical Technology students, Career Focus students and phlebotomy students. Providence caregivers are not simply valued - they're invaluable. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
