VP, Retirement Plan Sales

General Description Outside retirement sales consulting position. Includes Investment Advisory, Defined Benefit, non‑qualified plans, and Defined Contribution solutions. Responsible for all aspects of the sales process from prospecting to closing business. Build relationships and drive profitability, satisfaction, and organic growth. Responsibilities Primary focus on new business development and driving sales, including lead generation campaigns, cold calling, letters, etc. Achieve annual production requirement. Drive consistent and predictable profitability and organic growth to support overall revenue goals. Seek out new relationships with plan sponsors, centers of influence/strategic partners, producers, and sales representatives across the country. Develop relationships on a local and regional level to ensure wide distribution of products and services. Use USI resources to research prospects and develop customized messaging. Understand and explain USI’s competitive differentiation to clients and prospects. Manage multiple facets of the sales process, including meetings, materials, follow‑up tasks, phone calls, proposals, presentations, and closing business. Use USI’s contact management and sales automation tools to support sales processes, inputting timely and accurate information to facilitate sales and revenue projections and engage technical resources. Actively participate in meetings on preparing for first appointments, advancing, and closing business. Develop and oversee the preparation of proposals for USICG prospects, gathering necessary information and working with department heads and consultants. Compile and respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) that are deemed a good fit for the organization. Pursue cross‑selling opportunities to enhance prospect and client relationships. Participate in USI sales training programs. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 5+ years experience in the financial services industry, with institutional and retirement plan sales experience strongly preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Series 6, 63 and 65 licenses or Series 7 and 66 licenses and state insurance license required or willing to obtain. Able to travel up to approximately 25% of the time based on territory. Personable, highly motivated and goal‑oriented; driven to achieve individual sales goals. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Detail‑oriented and strong organizational skills. Strong communication and presentation skills. A consultative, positive, and resourceful approach to dealing with prospects, clients, and associates. Excellent listening skills with strong customer focus. Ability to deal with senior‑level management and have a top‑level executive presence. Benefits Salary range of $100,000 to $130,000 plus sales bonus incentives.
