Develop and provide direct and indirect services within the student’s educational setting, based on established IEP goals and objectives. Essential Job Functions Consult with students to deliver effective speech-language services for those in the communication disorders program. Coordinate acquisition, dissemination, and maintenance of appropriate assessment and therapy materials and equipment. Develop, implement, and monitor innovative programs for speech-language service delivery. Develop and maintain resources and staff development programs for speech-language pathologists. Provide assessment and programming consultation to school personnel regarding specific students and communication needs, including augmentative and alternative communication systems. Attend ARC meetings as requested. Coordinate continued development and implementation of a communication disorders plan for each student. Serve as a resource for teachers of students with hearing and visual impairments. Monitor contractual audiology services for evaluations and equipment needs, including inventory and repairs. Set up treatment calendars in Medicaid Billing System by the 10th day of school and revise as students enroll or change. Complete all service logs for Medicaid Billing by the 10th of each month for the preceding month. Document pupil progress and maintain appropriate data/records pertaining to therapy services and present/provide information at all ARC meetings. Maintain regular attendance. Perform other duties as assigned. Demonstrate ability to communicate in more than one language or willingness to learn to communicate in more than one language at the novice level of proficiency. Qualifications Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders. Kentucky Department of Education Certificate for Teachers of Exceptional Children—Speech and Communication Disorders, Grades K-12. Certificate for Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Physical Demands Work is performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking. Requires ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing. Requires use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulation. Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching. Requires ability to lift, carry, push or pull light weights. Job Requirements Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
