Join a highly specialized repair station certified under Class IV 14 CFR Part 145, focusing on comprehensive aircraft maintenance. Our operations span narrow and wide body, small to large, and regional to long-haul aircraft, alongside one of the world's largest storage and reclamation services. As a Quality Control Inspector, you will be pivotal in maintaining our high standards by researching technical data and inspecting aircraft in heavy maintenance checks, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and internal policies.

Responsibilities

• Research technical data and perform inspections on hangared aircraft during heavy maintenance checks, flightline/storage induction or reactivation, and back shop repair/overhaul maintenance activities.
• Enforce Quality Control standards for material receiving, shipping, storage, handling, repairs, and overhaul, ensuring conformity with specifications and standards.
• Inspect aircraft components during assembly, installation, and adjustment phases to verify adherence to manufacturers' specifications and maintenance manual procedures.
• Document all Work-In-Progress accurately, ensuring corrective actions are properly referenced and logged.
• Record inspection data and report any irregularities to the Lead Inspector.
• Perform maintenance work/repair of company equipment and general shop housekeeping.
• Test the tightness of airframe connections and inspect part fittings using hand tools, flashlight, and mirror.
• Examine assembly, installation, and adjustment of aircraft components to ensure compliance with Civil Air Regulations and company specifications.
• Determine accuracy of component installation using tools such as protractors, micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Sign inspection tags to approve units or document reasons for rejection.
• Log inspections performed on aircraft.

Essential Skills

• 3-5+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Valid Driver's license.
• A&P License is highly preferred.
• Basic set of tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Inspection, Quality control, Quality assurance experience.
• Willingness to undergo FAA Drug Test and Background Check.

Work Environment

Work the first shift from 6 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The role involves sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods, frequent bending, stooping, and occasional heavy lifting up to 50lbs. You will operate equipment such as hydraulic press brakes, power shears, and rivet guns. Be prepared for potential exposure to high noise levels, temperature changes, and other hazards, with protective equipment like goggles, safety glasses, and ear protection provided. Work primarily within the B777 Cargo Conversion Program, with potential assignments across the property.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tucson, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39.12 - $47.00/hr.
