About the Role As a member of our Sales team, your commitment to excellence and passion for helping people succeed are the foundations for your career growth at PitchBook. The Market Development Representatives are the first point of contact for most of our new business opportunities and begin the full-funnel sales cycle that culminates in contract execution facilitated by our business development representatives. PitchBook's Market Development Representatives work diligently to engage and convert inbound leads into new sales opportunities for our Small Medium Business Sales Team. They engage warm leads through consistent outreach by way of phone, email, and LinkedIn to book product demos. Primary Job Responsibilities Achieve outlined goals and key performance indicators while upholding values and providing an excellent experience for prospective customers Connect with leads through written and verbal communication Utilize tool stack as instructed to work through lead pipeline and maintain accurate records Act as a consultant and take the time to understand your prospects needs and business priorities to address appropriately Conduct thorough discovery both pre-call and during call Complete company and team assigned training Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested Skills and Qualifications Prior sales internship experience preferred but not necessary Prior experience with tools such as Salesforce, Outreach, and LeanData/BookIt preferred but not necessary Demonstrate fearless curiosity and operate with a strong sense of urgency to deliver results Maintain prioritization and organization based on team strategy and goals Possess strong negotiation skills to effectively book inbound leads Excellent verbal and written communication skills A self-starter with a competitive spirit but also team oriented Interested in the capital markets Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future Benefits and Compensation Physical Health Additional medical wellness incentives STD, LTD, AD&D, and life insurance Emotional Health Paid sabbatical program after four years Paid family and paternity leave Annual educational stipend Ability to apply for tuition reimbursement CFA exam stipend Robust training programs on industry and soft skills Employee assistance program Generous allotment of vacation days, sick days, and volunteer days Social Health Matching gifts program Employee resource groups Dependent Care FSA Employee referral bonus program Quarterly team building events Shared ownership employee stock program Monthly transportation stipend Compensation This position is non-exempt and is paid a salary and a commission. The salary for the role is $65,000 and the on target commission for a fully ramped employee is $27,500. This represents an annual income of $92,500. PitchBook currently has no cap on commission and commission is determined by individual performance Working Conditions This role is expected to be in the office 5 days a week. The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
