NP/PA - Spine Program - Fargo, ND

Position Overview Advanced Practice Clinician (Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant) supporting the Spine Program at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND. The clinician will provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, with a focus on musculoskeletal and spine-related conditions. Responsibilities Assist in care and coordination of the Spine Program, providing initial intake assessments and ongoing patient care. Lead change initiatives to implement best practices in spine care across the multidisciplinary team. Facilitate continuous collaboration with the spine nurse navigator and other team members from PM&R, Neurosurgery, Chiropractic, PT/OT, and Pain Medicine clinics. Manage back pain treatment plans, including opioid titration when clinically appropriate. Anticipate and manage care for 12-16 adult outpatients per day. Use EPIC electronic medical record to document encounters and coordinate care. Demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills while working independently and within the team. Qualifications Masters or Doctorate degree in Nurse Practitioner program, or Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Physician Assistant program from an accredited institution. Musculoskeletal interest and training preferred. Completed essential clinical assessment skills and decision‑making training for advanced practice clinicians. Ability to work full‑time (1.0FTE, Monday‑Friday 8AM‑5PM, 36 patient contact hours per week). Licensure & Certifications Current licensure as a registered nurse in North Dakota (if NP) or equivalent Nurse Practitioner license in North Dakota. Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the applicable state. Valid CPR certification (National certification). State license obtained within one year of employment (Minnesota license if applicable). Successful completion of the Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
