Transportation Manager, Nights

What You’ll Do:

• Be an integral part of a high-performing, collaborative team.
• Lead with ownership, accountability, and a solutions-driven mindset.
• Oversee and enhance transportation logistics, including dispatch, check-in, fleet management, and policy adherence.
• Drive efficiency by modernizing processes and implementing innovative transportation strategies.
• Conduct ride-along evaluations and provide coaching to ensure drivers meet high standards of safety and service.
• Support and develop transportation team members, fostering engagement, empowerment, and accountability.
• Design and implement training programs to elevate driver safety and performance.
• Work hands-on to solve challenges, from unexpected vehicle issues to operational hurdles.
• Partner across departments to identify opportunities for enhanced service and cost-effective solutions.
• Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and industry best practices.
• Flexibility to work overnight, Sunday-Friday, based on business needs.

What You Bring to the Table:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience managing a trucking, dispatch, or driver fleet with a track record of success.
• Strong knowledge of DOT Hours of Service rules and compliance management.
• Experience overseeing a fleet in a package delivery or similar logistics environment.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making, especially in urgent situations.
• Experience with driver coaching, safety training, and structured evaluation methods (Smith System certification a plus).
• At least 1 year of experience with Samsara or other GPS tracking/safety management solutions.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Integrity, empathy, patience, and a commitment to excellence.
• A Class A CDL is required with an understanding of the possibility of jumping in a truck to assist with breakdowns or route coverage as needed.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
