Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU/StepdownWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Stepdown setting. The ideal candidate will have experience providing care to patients who are transitioning from an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and require intermediate-level monitoring.Position DetailsUnit Type: Stepdown (PCU)Patient Ratio: 1:3 Nurse to PatientBed Capacity: 14 beds / 7 roomsShift Length: 12 hoursGuaranteed Hours: 36 hours per weekKey ResponsibilitiesProvide high-quality nursing care to stepdown patients from the ICU.Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop care plans accordingly.Monitor vital signs and manage complex medical conditions, including TBI/trauma, sepsis, and patients recovering from major surgeries.Administer and titrate high-risk medications such as pressors and sedation medications.Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.Engage in effective communication with patients and families regarding care plans and expected outcomes.Participate in unit orientation and training programs.QualificationsRegistered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU stepdown or PCU setting.Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.Experience with arterial and CVP pressure lines, and managing patients on stable ventilation.Ability to titrate drips including Precedex, dopamine, dobutamine, and levophed.Strong teamwork skills and a commitment to enhancing patient experience through effective communication and advocacy.Scheduling and Requirements12-hour shifts starting at 6:45 AM or 6:45 PM.Commitment to working every other weekend and holidays as assigned.Floating to telemetry or med-surg may be required.Self-scheduling and block scheduling options are available.Additional NotesThe unit fosters a collaborative and close-knit team environment where effective teamwork is emphasized.
