Principal Technical Consultant

AlignityX is partnering with a leading enterprise software organization to hire Principal Technical Consultants who will serve as senior technical leaders across complex, high-impact client implementations.

U.S. citizenship is required due to security clearance requirements, and employment sponsorship is not available for this position.

At this level, success isn't simply about delivering against requirements. You'll be trusted to determine the right technical approach, influence critical architecture decisions, solve the problems that don't have obvious answers, and guide both clients and technical teams toward successful outcomes.

This is an individual contributor role for someone who has developed deep technical expertise but still wants to remain close to the technology. You'll move between senior client conversations, solution architecture, technical problem-solving, and mentoring other consultants and engineers.

What You'll Do

• Serve as a technical authority across complex enterprise software implementations
• Lead solution architecture and make critical design decisions across client engagements
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions
• Identify architectural and technical risks early and develop practical approaches to address them
• Guide implementation teams through application design, integrations, APIs, relational data models, SQL, performance, and complex technical challenges
• Partner directly with senior client stakeholders, earning credibility as a trusted technical advisor
• Lead technical discovery and help clients navigate competing requirements, constraints, and priorities
• Provide technical leadership throughout the full implementation lifecycle, from solution design through deployment and go-live
• Mentor consultants and engineers, providing technical guidance and helping elevate the capabilities of the broader team
• Balance immediate client needs with long-term scalability, maintainability, performance, and solution integrity
• Remain technically engaged and capable of getting into the details when the situation requires it

What You'll Bring

• 8+ years of experience in software development, technical consulting, enterprise implementation, or a combination of these areas
• Significant experience owning complex, end-to-end enterprise software implementations
• Strong object-oriented programming and software engineering fundamentals
• Experience designing enterprise applications and making architecture-level technical decisions
• Strong relational database and data modeling fundamentals, including SQL
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise integrations using APIs and web services, including REST and SOAP
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and solve complex technical problems
• Strong client-facing consulting skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and executive stakeholders
• Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers or consultants, and influencing teams without relying solely on positional authority
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or another related technical discipline
• U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work and security clearance requirements
• Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance
• Employment sponsorship is not provided for this position
• Ability to travel up to 20%

What Will Set You Apart

Experience with enterprise application platforms, application modernization, workflow or business process automation, cloud technologies, AI, or other complex enterprise software environments is valuable.

Prior experience with the company's specific platform is not required . We're looking for strong technical fundamentals, implementation depth, architectural judgment, and the ability to learn sophisticated technology quickly.
