Job Summary:
The Resident Assistant (RA) provides essential care and support to residents in a manner that promotes dignity, comfort, and independence. The RA assists with activities of daily living (ADLs), monitors resident well-being, and ensures a safe and supportive environment in accordance with facility policies and state regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Observe and report any changes in residents' physical or mental condition to nursing staff
- Support residents with meal assistance and hydration
- Assist with light housekeeping and room organization to maintain a clean environment
- Promote resident safety through proper use of equipment and fall prevention techniques
- Escort residents to activities and appointments as needed
- Follow individualized care plans and document services provided
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience in caregiving or assisted living preferred, but not required
- Ability to work compassionately with older adults
- Basic knowledge of infection control and resident rights
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
