This experience will require a combination of skills from manufacturing processes, data analytics, and project management.The Day-To-DayReview Viasat and supplier product yield and field reliability data for trends.Audit sites to review effectiveness or corrective actions and identify areas for improvement utilizing Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) frameworkDevelop scripting with Python to investigate trends associated with production data, customer returns, and repairs.Provide analysis and recommendations to the business team, using data to tell compelling stories and influence action.Drive root cause investigations and process improvement efforts, utilizing tools such as Pareto Analysis, Histograms, Cause & Effect Diagrams, and Cpk.Engage with teams to build relationships, focusing on solving problems to enhance quality, on-time delivery, and cost efficiency.What You'll Need1+ years' as a Quality Engineer with experience in aerospace, and/or defense environment, including Design, Manufacturing, and implementation of Quality Management SystemsStrong analytical experience using Python, communication, and interaction skillsExperience working with and managing a contract manufacturerExperience in interpreting contract quality requirements covering quality requirements and quality planningUnderstanding of box-build, SMT, fabrication commoditiesPractical experience collaborating within a cross-functional group dedicated to supplier quality and product quality assurance for diverse productsPrior experience in using Quality Tools: 8D, 5-Why, DFMEA/PFMEAHands-on experience working in a multi-functional team covering supplier quality, product quality assurance across a wide range of productsStrong analytical skills. Excellent written communication skills and ability to communicate across all level and functionsWhat Will Help You On The JobSelf starter with experience navigating ambiguityStrong Interpersonal skillsASQ CQE certificationLean and/or Six Sigma CertificationUnderstanding of IPC 610 & 620 requirementsSalary Range$64,500.00 - $101,500.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $79,500.00- $119,500.00/ annually At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
