HS Biology Teacher

Summary Bethany High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our faculty as a full-time Biology Teacher. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the wonders of biology while fostering a love for science and critical thinking. This role involves creating an engaging classroom environment, developing curriculum, and supporting students in their academic growth. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum guidelines. Facilitate engaging classroom discussions and hands-on laboratory experiences to enhance student understanding of biological concepts. Assess and evaluate student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, and projects, providing timely feedback and support. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration. Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance, reporting any concerns to appropriate staff and parents. Collaborate with fellow educators to integrate interdisciplinary approaches and support school-wide initiatives. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with advancements in biology education and pedagogy. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive learning community. Supervise and support extracurricular activities related to biology, such as science clubs or competitions. Uphold school policies and procedures while promoting a safe and respectful learning environment. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Education, or a related field Valid teaching certification in Secondary Education with a focus on Biology. Proven experience teaching high school biology or related subjects. Strong knowledge of biological concepts, laboratory techniques, and current scientific research. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students of diverse backgrounds. Ability to create engaging and interactive lesson plans that accommodate various learning styles. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing classroom activities and student assessments. Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
