This position is in our Chicagoland area, IL,territory and can be filled by a trainee or experienced field engineer.Positions serving territories away from our headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio are fully remote.Starting Pay: The pay range for this position is $75,000 - $126,000 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.Be ready to:maintain territory's jurisdictional boiler and pressure vessel certificate inspectionsefficiently and effectively manage the territory for which you are responsible foreducate agents on how to market machinery and equipment to their clientsserve as a professional resource to our insurance agents as they retain business and increase the value of their marketing effortsprovide high level of claims service to our local independent insurance agentsQualificationsBe equipped with: good time management skillssolid interpersonal communication skillsthe ability to react professionally under stressful situations in order to successfully resolve issues the ability to work independently without close supervisionthe ability to effectively interact and work well with different departments at our companythe ability to prepare meaningful and precise reports Field engineer trainees should also be equipped with:an engineering or technically-based bachelor’s degree or other qualifying boiler and pressure vessel work experiencethe ability to work independently to accomplish initiativesstrong customer service skillsexcellent verbal and written communication skillsstrong interpersonal skillsexcellent problem-solving, negotiation, organizational and prioritization skillsstrong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and related softwarea willingness to travel regularly within the territory to meet job demandsvalid driver’s licenseExperienced field engineers should also be equipped with:machinery and equipment experience within a property and casualty insurance company (preferred)a strong knowledge of machinery and equipment, equipment breakdown coverages, corresponding business lines, regulations and consensus standards (preferred)a bachelor’s degree applicable to the position responsibilities or related experience and traininga national board commission or have the necessary qualifications to promptly acquire itstrong consultative, organizational, and presentation skillsa demonstrated pursuit of continuing educationvalid driver’s licenseEnhance your talentsProviding outstanding service and developing strong relationships with our independent agents are hallmarks of our company.
