Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nursing AssistantShift's Available: DaysHours: 12-hour shifts: 7a - 7pEmployment Type: Full TimeLocation: Riverview Regional Medical Center – Gadsden, ALWe are seeking a Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nursing Assistant, also referred to as a Med-Surg Tele PCU Nursing Assistant. The Med-Surg/Tele/PCU Nursing Assistant provides basic patient care, monitoring vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring patient safety for adults recovering from surgeries or illnesses while on heart monitors. They play a critical role in observing patients, reporting changes, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment to promote recovery.ResponsibilitiesBasic patient care: help patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eatingVital signs monitoring: take and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturationMobility assistance: help patients get in and out of bed, walk, or use assistive devices.EKG lead maintenance: ensure telemetry monitors (heart monitors) are properly connected and functioning — though Certified Nursing Assistant's (CNA's) don't usually interpret heart rhythms, they might recognize when alarms go off and immediately alert registered nursesObservation: monitor patients for any physical changes (shortness of breath, chest pain, altered mental status) and quickly notifying the nursing staffQualificationsBefore we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers.
