Essential Job Functions

Under close supervision, prepares simple and routine plans, designs, and calculations by following standard engineering practices and procedures within well-established guidelines.

Seeks validation from Team Leader, Senior Engineer or Project Manager on design decisions.

Demonstrates the ability to learn the basic design and analysis within his/her discipline.

Responsible for understanding and embodying DWG's Culture Statement.

Plan & design electrical systems for tasks of various types including institutional facilities, commercial buildings, medical complexes, educational facilities, laboratories, and government facilities.

Perform individual aspects of electrical engineering as it relates to individually assigned task. This is inclusive of, but not limited to the following:

Power distribution both primary distribution and secondary distribution

Power generation including cogeneration and standby systems

Lighting design and control, including both interior and exterior lighting

Power conditioning and uninterruptible power supplies

Telecommunications

Security and surveillance

Fire alarm

Programmable controllers

Nurse call

Lightning protection

Education

BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or an Architectural Engineering Degree with an emphasis in Electrical Engineering

Machine/Equipment/Computer Requirements

Knowledge of Microsoft Office

AutoCAD (most current version)

Revit (most current version)

Visual Lighting Software
