RN - MedSurg

Registered Nurse - Med/Surg

This is a 13-week contract position.

Shifts are from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

The competent Registered Nurse in the Med/Surg setting practices independently and is aware of all relevant aspects of patient care situations. The nurse will provide routine and complex care while developing long-range goals and plans. The role requires the ability to cope with and manage clinical contingencies, make appropriate assignments, and delegate tasks to other care providers effectively.

Utilize the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of assigned patients.

Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.

Administer medications and treatments according to protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.

Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.

Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers.

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.

1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred.

BLS certification via AHA required.

Current RN license in the state of employment or compact.
