Legal Intern

The Legal Intern will assist with projects within Ventra's in-house corporate legal department, including reviewing, drafting and logging contracts; reviewing, organizing and tracking various consents documents; performing general corporate maintenance and other compliance related activities; and conducting legal research regarding various legal healthcare and compliance related topics.

The majority of services may be performed remotely, but some limited in-office time may also be required. Fully remote will be considered but we do prefer candidates who are able to work West Coast hours with the team.

Essential Functions and Tasks

• Perform legal research
• Review and log both customer and vendor agreements
• Assist with drafting confidentiality agreements, vendor contracts, and customer contracts
• Draft legal correspondence and reports
• Manage state filings and business licenses
• Assist with various legal and compliance related projects
• We ask that students commit to 16-20 hours per week and would prefer students interested in the possibility of extending this into a full year externship.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and currently a second or third year student pursuing a Juris Doctorate degree in an accredited law program
• Contract review/management, corporate legal or healthcare related experience preferred

Compensation

• Base compensation will be based on various factors unique to each candidate including geographic location, skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
• The salary range for this position is $20-$22/hr.
