ICT Systems Technician I

Salary: $45,000 - 45,000 per year Requirements:

• We prefer a bachelors degree, though an equivalent mix of education, training, or experience may substitute.
• We prefer 1–2 years of successful experience in an ICT department.
• Experience in higher education is preferred, but not essential.

• Proficiency with Windows and iOS desktop operating systems is required.

• We need someone who can prioritize effectively and deliver excellent customer service with a professional, positive attitude.

• The ability to lift and carry 20+ pounds is required.
• We require a flexible schedule, including scheduled evening and weekend hours.
• The ability to travel between our Campus and downtown Waterbury locations is required.

• We provide technical support to staff on all supported software platforms.
• We prepare and break down computers and AV equipment for staff, students, and faculty before, during, and after meetings as needed.
• We respond quickly to staff, faculty, and students for troubleshooting, hardware and software issues, password help, and general technical support.
• We log all technology support requests in our ticketing system to track maintenance needs and service volume.
• We set up and dismantle computer labs in academic buildings, offices, and residence halls.
• We install and configure new devices and add them to Active Directory Domain and/or Azure Autopilot.
• We install and configure desktop software as needed.
• We manage antivirus software and assist users with applications and hardware troubleshooting.
• We provide technical assistance and training to staff, faculty, or students using audio/visual equipment for events in classrooms and public spaces.
• We maintain equipment, track inventory, and recommend repairs, storage, or replacements.
• We communicate with staff, faculty, and students about technology needs, scheduling, and issues.
• We follow all rules and regulations regarding staff conduct, dress, program procedures, and responsibilities outlined in the Staff Handbook.
• We take on other reasonable duties as requested by staff, faculty, students, or supervisors.
• We perform related work as required or delegated by our supervisors.

ICT Systems Technician - Level I provides comprehensive technical support to faculty, staff, and students across offices, classrooms, public areas, and residence halls. This role combines strong computer and audio-visual knowledge with a commitment to high-quality customer service. We respond to support requests through our ticketing system, by phone, and in person, and we assist with classroom, lab, and residence hall technology during and outside scheduled class times. The compensation for this role is $45,000 annually, or $21.64 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday on a rotation basis, and the role requires flexibility for evening and weekend coverage as well as travel between our Campus and downtown Waterbury locations.
