Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Medical-Surgical Stroke Stepdown – New York

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Central New York

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM; 64-bed unit with floating required as needed

Highlights:

• Medical-Surgical Stroke Stepdown unit specializing in stroke care, altered mental status, renal/dialysis, COPD, CHF, and general medical-surgical conditions
• Work with adult patient population utilizing specialty equipment including IV pumps, NG tubes, and feeding tubes
• EPIC EMR system in use
• Travel nursing experience required; local candidates welcome
• Navy blue scrubs
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required (may be obtained prior to start date)

Requirements:

• Active New York RN license (must be verified through NURSYS)
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in Medical-Surgical nursing with stroke stepdown experience
• Documented travel nursing experience required
• Current AHA BLS certification
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification required or must be obtained before start date
• Valid driver's license
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Skills checklist and up-to-date resume required at time of submission
