A respected and growing litigation firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Associate Attorney to join its Dallas practice.


This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 5+ years of experience who wants to work on sophisticated, high-value civil litigation matters while joining a firm that recognizes the importance of both professional growth and work-life balance.


The Opportunity


The successful candidate will handle complex civil litigation matters involving a diverse range of industries and claims. Attorneys have the opportunity to work on sophisticated cases involving significant exposure while developing their litigation skills and taking on meaningful responsibility.


The practice handles matters involving:

• Construction
• Healthcare
• Oil & gas
• Product and premises liability
• Transportation and trucking
• Catastrophic injury
• Insurance coverage
• Complex civil litigation

This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys challenging litigation and wants to work on matters that require strong analytical, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills.


What You'll Do

• Handle insurance defense and complex civil litigation matters
• Manage cases through various stages of litigation
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation
• Communicate with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders
• Analyze liability, damages, coverage, and litigation exposure
• Work collaboratively with other attorneys while taking ownership of assigned matters

Ideal Candidate

• 5+ years of legal experience
• Experience practicing insurance defense
• Strong background in complex civil litigation
• Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills
• Experience managing cases and working directly with clients
• Strong analytical abilities and sound judgment
• Ability to manage a sophisticated caseload and meet deadlines
• Professional, collaborative, and motivated approach

Experience in construction, healthcare, oil & gas, transportation/trucking, catastrophic injury, product liability, premises liability, or insurance coverage is particularly valuable.

Work-Life Balance

The firm's minimum annual billing expectation is approximately 1,850 hours , which is comparatively moderate within the insurance defense market. Attorneys who exceed the baseline have opportunities for additional compensation.


The firm also recognizes that attorneys may need time to ramp up when joining and does not expect new attorneys to immediately meet billing expectations. Individual circumstances and family obligations are taken into consideration.
